Adolph Menzel - Canvas Prints

ADOLPH MENZEL - Canvas Prints

Adolph Friedrich Erdmann von Menzel, or simply, Adolph Menzel, was one of the most successful German painters of the 19th century. His paintings belong to the artistic movement of Realism. In addition to paintings, he is also known for his drawings, etchings, and illustrations. Menzel's most prominent artworks are related to historical painting. One of them is the oil on canvas painting, "Flute Concert with Frederick the Great at Sanssouci," which depicts a historical scene with the King of Prussia. What is interesting about Menzel is that he perceived himself as socially rejected. The reason for that was his physical complexity. Menzel had an extremely large head. However, this did not jeopardize the painting talent of this artist.
