CHARLES COURTNEY CURRAN - Canvas Prints

Charles Courtney Curran was an American painter from Hartford, Connecticut. He was an Impressionist painter and his works depicted well-dressed, high society women working on various activities outdoors. Curran liked to position these women with picturesque scenery, creating almost dream-like backdrops with the use of vivid colors and soft, feathery textures. Some of Curran’s prominent works include “Lotus Lilies,” “Sunshine and Haze,” “A Breezy Day,” and “Hollyhocks and Sunlight.” Curran was the secretary of the National Academy of Design for fifteen years before his death, and although he had seen the beginnings of Post-Impressionism, Cubism, and Fauvism in the early 20th century, Curran painted in true Impressionist style for the entirety of his career.
