Charles Rennie Mackintosh - Canvas Prints

CHARLES RENNIE MACKINTOSH - Canvas Prints

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish artist from Glasgow who specialized in Symbolism and Art Nouveau styles. He was an architect, designer, and was heavily influenced by the Industrial Revolution in Glasgow, along with emerging Japanese design trends, better known as Japonism. His biggest architectural achievement was the design of the Glasgow Herald newspaper offices. Later renamed The Lighthouse, the goal of Mackintosh’s design was to unite the community socially, economically, and culturally- linking the architectural design to creative industries. Similarly, Mackintosh’s designs, such as The Willow Tearooms, Hill House, and former Daily Record offices, all share these same cultural links. Much of Mackintosh’s design philosophy is still revered to this day.
