EUGENE BURNAND - Canvas Prints

Eugene Burnand was a Swiss painter from Moudon, Switzerland. He was a Realist painter who was deeply inspired by nature. His family was immensely religious, and Burnand grew up as a devout Protestant. His religion, along with his reverence for rural life, would influence some of his greatest paintings. These include pieces such as “Herd of Cattle Beside the Sea,” “The Parables,” and “The Disciples Peter and John Running to the Tomb.” Later in his artistic career, Burnand was esteemed for his ability to capture emotion and character in his portraits. In his last endeavor, he created pastel portraits of Allies fighting in World War I, entitled “Types Vaudois.”
