EUGENE GALIEN-LALOUE - Canvas Prints

Eugene Galien-Laloue was a French-Italian painter from Paris. He was an Impressionist painter who captured cheerful, lively street scenes of a bustling Paris. Many often refer to this period as “La Belle Époque,” a time of peace and prosperity in France that began around 1870, lasting until 1914 when World War I was declared. Laloue liked to depict tourists mingling in front of different French monuments, such as the Louvre. Interestingly, the people of France nominated Laloue to be a “war artist” during World War I and he would go on to produce several watercolor paintings of landscapes in Normandy and other war scenes.
