HENDRIK WILLEM MESDAG - Canvas Prints
Hendrik Willem Mesdag was a Dutch Impressionist painter from the Netherlands. He was best known for his marine paintings, often depicting seascapes in The Hague. His painting entitled “The Breakers of the North Sea” even won a gold medal from the Paris Salon in 1870. Mesdag was inspired by the coastlines and maritime life surrounding him, which led to the production of his largest painting: a panoramic piece he called “Panorama Mesdag.” The painting was around 14 meters high and 40 meters in width, creating an enormous beach scene overlooking the Scheveningen village.
