JACOB VAN LOO
Jacob van Loo was a Dutch artist from Sluis. He was an influential painter during the Dutch Golden Age and his works belong to the History painting genre. Van Loo was known for depicting mythological and biblical scenes in his paintings and was praised for his quality renderings of nude figures. He also created casual group and individual portraits. Some of his distinguished works include “Diana and her Nymphs,” “Melancholy,” and “Young Woman Going to Bed.”
