JEAN-HIPPOLYTE FLANDRIN - Canvas Prints
Jean-Hippolyte Flandrin was a French painter from Lyons. Due to his lack of artistic training, he began his artistic career as a miniature painter. With help from his colleague and teacher, Jean-Auguste-Dominique, Flandrin was able to flourish as a Neoclassic painter. He was inspired by historical and religious scenes, Greek mythology, and high-society portraiture. His most famous artworks are "Young Man Sitting by the Seashore,” "Polites, Son of Priam,” "Observes the Movements of the Greeks," and "St. Clair Healing the Blind.”
