Johan Laurentz Jensen was a Danish artist from Gentofte. He was an Academic painter who specialized in flower painting. Jensen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and found inspiration in natural themes and objects. He mostly painted floral arrangements, but also enjoyed painting exotic fruits and birds. Jensen wanted his subject matter to always symbolize “life” and living. His painting entitled “Vase of Dahlias” is his best-known work.
