
JOHN EVERETT MILLAIS
John Everett Millais was a British artist from Southampton. His works belonged to the Romanticism and Realism movements, and he was a co-founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Millais was accomplished in painting, drawing, and printmaking. He was a skilled portrait artist, often painting noble and literary figures. Millais also painted colorful landscapes and religious and historical scenes later in his career. His painting “Ophelia” is perhaps his most notable work.
