JOHN ROBERT COZENS
John Robert Cozens was a British painter from London. His works belonged to the Romanticism movement. Cozens found his greatest inspiration in natural landscapes. He is known for creating a mystical atmosphere in his paintings by using various watercolor techniques. Through these techniques, Cozen was able to establish spatial illusion in his pieces. “Lake Nemi,” “The Small Temple at Paestum,” and “View of Vietri and Raito” are just a few of his most prominent paintings. In 2010, his painting “Lake Albano” was sold at auction for 2.4 million pounds, making it the largest sale of a British watercolor from the Romantic period.
