
JOHN WILLIAM GODWARD
John William Godward was a British Neoclassical painter from London. He exhibited works at the Royal Academy throughout his career and he is famous for his paintings of beautiful women in studied poses. Godward was also noted for his attention to detail in his works. Many of his pieces contain architectural elements, elaborate draperies, and textured surfaces. Some of Godward’s best-known paintings are “Reverie,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Dolce Far Niente.”
