Julius von Blaas

Italian painter Julius von Blaas was an Austrian Italian painter who devoted himself to equestrian subjects. He primarily learned to paint under his father. In Rome, Blaas painted genre scenes from the Campagna. The Austrian Court appointed him portrait painter and he also became a professor at the Academy of Vienna. One of his most noteworthy works is Race of Intoxicated Slavonic Peasants.
