LEONARDO DA VINCI - Canvas Prints
Called a universal genius and a true Renaissance Man, Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, sculptor, architect, inventor, military engineer, draftsman, and more! He owned a truly inquisitive mind and practiced deep intellect. He was born in Florence, Italy, to a notary and a peasant woman and had many half-siblings, who made it difficult to acquire his father’s inheritance when he passed. He created of the famed Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, easily two of the biggest masterpieces ever made. However, he produced fewer than two dozen paintings (only 15 that survive today) in his lifetime because he constantly zig-zagged between his many interest. His studies of science and nature informed his work, owning countless notebooks riddled with scribbles of information and sketches. Da Vinci published none of his theories, so one can only guess what impact his ideations of weapons and machinery would have had on the Renaissance!
