NICOLAES MAES - Canvas Prints
Nicolaes Maes was a Dutch artist from Dordt. He was a Baroque painter who specialized in genre-painting, portraiture, and religious scenes. Maes’s compositions were inspired by scenes from the everyday lives of the bourgeois, often featuring women working in the home or completing chores. Examples of this theme in Maes’s work can be seen in his pieces "Woman Scraping Parsnips,” "Two Chattering Housewives,” "Dutch Housewife," and "Idle Servant.”
