Paul Serusier was a French artist from Paris. He was a Post-Impressionist painter and a leader in Abstract art, Cloisonnism, and Synthetism. Serusier was a portrait artist but was most known for his landscape and still life paintings. He was inspired by figure drawing in nature. The paintings “Widow,” "Mignonne Allons Voir si la Rose," and "Scene” are some of his most important works. Serusier was a part of Les Nabis, a group of artists that helped pave the way for Modernist art in the late 19th century.
