ROBERT BEVAN
Robert Bevan was a British artist from Hove. He was a painter and draughtman, remembered for his part in founding the Camden Town Group: a Post-Impressionist artist collective. Bevan was drawn to nature, as well as urban life and architecture. He created influential paintings of London street scenes such as “Weigh House, Cumberland Market” and “Street Scene in Belsize Park.” After a 20-year hiatus from the art world, Bevan would return to lithography. Some of his most popular lithographs are entitled “Meet” and “Found.”
