TORII KIYONAGA - Canvas Prints
Torii Kiyonaga was a Japanese artist from Sagami Province. He was an ukiyo-e artist who was inspired by traditional female figures, nature, Japanese folklore, as well as everyday life scenarios. Kiyonaga mainly focused on depicting elegant female figures and emphasized their gentle beauty. “Bathhouse Women,” “Cooling on Riverside,” and “Beauty in Summer Breeze” are some of his notable wood-block prints. Interestingly, due to the large paper formats of his paintings, Kiyonaga’s female figures always tended to look extremely tall and elongated.
