UMBERTO BOCCIONI
Umberto Boccioni was an Italian artist from Reggio. He was a painter, sculptor, and a leader of the Futurism movement. Boccioni often found inspiration in architecture due to its direct connection to the principles of geometry. His works entitled “Simultaneous Visions” and “Street Enters the House” are notable examples of this connection. Boccioni was also known to create portraiture emphasizing the Futurism style. “Dynamism of a Woman’s Head” is a Futuristic portrait featuring his “mixed painting” technique. Boccioni’s works and artistic theories surrounding Futurism and Abstract art remain imperative in the art world to this day.
