WATANABE SEITEI - Canvas Prints
Watanabe Seitei was a Japanese painter from Tokyo who specialized in Nihonga art. Adhering to traditional Nihonga standards, Seitei used items such as Japanese paper and eginu silk to create his works. Seitei’s paintings consisted of birds, flowers, known as kacho-e, and other objects found in nature. He was novel for combining Japanese styles with Western Realism with lavish color-washing he learned at the Kikuchi Yōsai school. Prominent works from Seitei include “Seagulls over the Waves,” “Album Leaf,” and “Blooming Wisteria and Fish.”
