WILLIAM-ADOLPHE BOUGUEREAU - Canvas Prints
William-Adolphe Bouguereau was a French painter from La Rochelle. He was an Academic artist with Neoclassical influences. Bouguereau was a genre-painter and portrayed nude female figures in studied poses, often outside and near water. His paintings carried mythological undertones, as some of the women depicted have “fairy-like” qualities. Bouguereau was a master of intertwining these fantastical elements with classical figure painting. Some of his highlighted works include “Nymphaeum,” “Dante and Virgil,” and “Shepherdess.”
