BARTOLOME ESTEBAN MURILLO - Canvas Prints
Bartolome Esteban Murillo was a Spanish painter from Seville. His paintings belong to the artistic movement of Baroque. Murillo's artwork was influenced by painters such as Francisco de Zurbarán, Alonso Cano, and Jusepe de Ribera: which is evident as the characteristics of Realism and Tenebrism can be recognized in his paintings. His paintings mostly have religious themes, but he was also dedicated to portrait paintings with children, flower girls, and beggars. "Virgin and the Child" and the "Immaculate Conception" are the names of his most important paintings. It is interesting that until the 19th century, Murillo was the only Spanish artist widely known in the European world, so his artworks were often imitated by future colleagues.
