GIOTTO DI BONDONE - Canvas Prints
Giotto di Bondone, known as Giotto, was an Italian artist from Florence. He was a painter during the Gothic and Proto-Renaissance and his works were based on spirituality and religious motifs. Giotto’s style of painting was straightforward. He chose not to overly-embellish his figures in the way that Byzantine art did: instead, his artistic focus was on capturing the emotions of each figure. The fresco entitled “Lamentation” is an excellent example of how well Giotto was able to portray feelings on his subjects.
