MARCUS STONE - Canvas Prints
Marcus Stone was an English painter from London. His works belong to the Romanticism era. In the early years of Stone’s career, he was known for painting historical events, but eventually he would turn to more calm, sentimental subject matter. Stone would often portray affluent women lounging in gardens or strolling in courtyards in his later works. He would also portray a sense of love or longing in these later paintings. "Welcome Footsteps,” "End of the Story,” "Waiting," and "In Love" are just some of his most prominent paintings. In addition, Stone illustrated books by famous authors of the time, such as Charles Dickens and Anthony Trollope.
